(I am now in a rush to test as many games as possible to help, so please do not mind the cursory reviewing style.)
This may sound super silly, but I was wondering what the lower-left arrow button was for, clicked on it during the introduction, got a sound, wondered if it was for muting, and clicking again in game, this skipped some tutorial text; I then refreshed the page, but now, the game goes directly to the substance, skipping both the introduction and the tutorial!
So, using the desktop version.
… Wait, just HOW are you playing a card?! I may be total imbecile here, but nothing happens when I try to plant a card in some empty location! Am I missing some key?! Clicking does not work, drag-and-drop does not either…
And what is the cash objective, by the way? Maybe there is no threshold, just make the most?
Ah, the arrow button uses a card! This may be me, but I thought this was far from obvious! I also do not get how to connect a card to a location.
Aaaaah, got it: this is all linked to the location restrictions!! X) Just click an adequate location, which matches the icon on the card… Sorry about this. But then, what is the arrow button for??
Now that I have understood how to play, the game seems super straightforward! Algorithm: repeat forever: {while you can place your current card, place it; make the most of the current buildings/sites}. ("make the most", which I guess is "click like crazy", which ends up being more profitable because you have an endless stream of cards.)
By the way, still unsure what action, intrigue, and romance are all about in the quest for cash! Maybe just their own worth?
And found out for the arrow: DOES really place the card, just automatically selects a location.
Takeaway: I take the idleness as satire on rentiers, which is funny as some kind of a meta-joke (because it is the whole game, actually). I think there is a big need for clearer instructions; this may sound silly, but I was really totally at a loss at the beginning, and the other two commenters had trouble too (PerIta Soft apparently could not play reasonably, while Drewmanfu was also confused by the interface as I was). Apart from that, the map and location drawings are nice (liked that little banana fellow! XD). The temporary aspect is clear, but I am not sure how to use it well, since there seems to be no really big downside to sacrificing a building out of clicking it and then replacing it. I think some hardship should happen, so that the player gets a challenge. Except if you really want the game to be an ‘idle joke’ concept. X)
Sorry for being such a twit for the interface; still, I enjoyed imagining the sunny beachy setting depicted by the locations and map. :)
