Try placing entire save folder to somewhere else(C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\LAGS\Hailey's Adventure). Then run the game.
If that doesn't work try downloading it again.
I did that and it now runs faster but when I run the first level (I removed my saves too) I can hear the sounds of walking, jumping, etc but the screen keeps black.
