If it's the steam version. Try executing the .exe directly : You can usually find it here. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GameMaker Studio 2 Desktop.
I had an issue with it not letting me log in and it would give me an internal server error fault, but was eventually able to launch it and login without issue after firing it up from the .exe. rather than from steam.
