I just tried to do a speedrun myself including all the skips you guys found (and some you didn't find) just for fun to see how I could do.

Which skips didn't we find? Also GG on the sub-4!

I think it would be more fun if I didn't tell you since that would be unfair since I'm the developer.
But if you insist, I can give you a hint.

I don't think it would be unfair at all. I'd like a hint if you won't tell

I have an inkling of what you're talking about.

First, the triple jump: by rejumping really quickly after jumping once, you do another regular jump, from witch point you can go higher than usual by doing an actual double jump.

Only thing is, if I spam fast enough, it seems i can go arbitrarily high, but it's way too inconsistant for me to do anything useful with it or figure anything out about it.

Second: the glitchy walljump (named after the glitchy wallkick in Super Mario 64 which has got a similar effect). I seems that, sometimes, when walljumping while going off a wall (say by holding the other direction or simply reaching the height of the celling below), you can walljump without the opposite momentum that normally comes with a walljump. This can save a surprising amount of time when skipping the section to activate the giant windmill. I would know since I've done it accidentally on a couple of occasions.

My best guess is that you can still walljump one physics frame after going off a wall, but the game doesn't see any wall to send you backwards from, so it just doesn't.

Bonus observation: it's possible to slide off a wall without being in contact with it by holding the opposite direction for juuussstt the right amount of time. However, walljumping from this state sends you back like normal.

Finally, backwards stair climbing: with the sliding walljump, it's just barely possible to climb upside down stairs, which you could potentially use to skip the oscillating platform, saving heaps of time.

I've not done this yet as it is incredibly difficult, but i'm trying.

I knew about all of these except for the triple jump, which I'll look into since I can get it somewhat consistent. I don't think that any of these are what the developer used though, since they are so hard. After playing through the game again I didn't find any new skips, but I'll keep trying to find them

Also, should we set up a discord for this game? I don't want to clutter the comments of this game with speedrun talk.

I was worried about that too, update soon.

I just found a HUUGE skip!

I originally typed out an explanation, but then I got wr so I'll just show the video here:

Bingo

are there any other skips you found that we don't know about yet?

I had taught about this, frustratingly enough 😅, but i had trouble avoiding the checkpoint, so i gave up, with no knowleage of where the trigger was located. Also, i think the server is ready enough https://discord.gg/fNnCpyuj

I have a discord for my games already. If you want I can make you guys some channels for speedrunning there as well.

Here is the link in case you are interested. I also post news for updates for my games there.
