It just dawned on me, when I use your download I have to extract files to get to the file that starts the game, I just double click it and it starts, maybe there's something there that's causing these bugs on our end?

It automatically extracts all necessary file to a temporary location. I've uploaded a new version with improved journal tutorial. If you go to investigation tab and click on knocking a ghost text. You will understand which tools must be used during 'Hunt Idle' period and which can be used during Hunt.
Got it worked out, everything seems to be working fine now thanks to you and another commenter, only other bug now is the speed change when interacting with the other ghosts in the gallery, only goes 1 speed no matter how high you adjust it.
Finally bought the pre order and idk if that did it or what but everything idled like it should have and there were no visible bugs other than the one I mentioned.
