I was immediately hooked in by the visuals. I found the circular pixel style incredibly interesting and novel. I was pleasantly surprised to see the scan mechanic actually reflect the depth of objects from the perspective we are looking from, and not just reveal the whole area for a short time. I felt like the mechanical limitations worked well to the game's advantage, where you can't immediately see the danger, and you have to make a conscious decision to scan the area and pray you don't see danger staring you right in the face (hehe). I always got spooked when I heard sounds close by or saw evidence of a person being in the house with me and wasn't able to see them. At some point I started wondering if there's any narrative horror as well, i.e. the dust is blood and we're cleaning up a murder scene. I would say the connection to the theme is a bit of a stretch, but the horror aspect is on point and more than compensates for it. I found the entire premise novel and well-executed, and so far it's my favorite submission in the jam.
