I love a good looping animation. I had some suggested “improvements” in mind but the more I watched it loop, the more I realised that the rugged-ness adds to the charm, especially coupled with the cartoon fish illustration so I think this is great as is.

Instead of suggesting “improvements”, here are some ways you might make the animation feel smoother for a future project:

  • The larger fish mouth suddenly appears. Consider having it enter from the side of the image or even start from the very top and bottom of the image a few frames earlier.
  • The zoom out could use an extra frame or two to make the transition smoother, or even replace an existing frame with a smear frame if you don’t want to slow it down.
