Don't know much about Linux or Wine. You're using 1.03?
It's not a bug I ever encountered in my builds.
Unity's supposed to read the story scripts at this point. I also deactivated Vsynch if that can influence your app.
If the problem persist, I'll try to build a Linux version, just answer under this post and I'll build one.
