for the characters achetype, it's the whole point of an archetype, it's a blueprint where you add your own spice, so yeah marrow is similar to ranok, just as much as amicus or any other furry VN with a very himbo-ish love interest. I feel like the comparition of murrdock and vulgor is far fetch but I haven't read enough of FBTW so I guess you're right is a way but you also can compare him to other's vn's "rude but nice when you get to know them".

now for the ''psychological issues due to being transported'' in FBTW, The MC has no memories while tucker doesn't have any problem I think ? Unless I miss something ? But if you were talking about the whole big sad and anxiety attack. It's just natural reactions to such drastic situation. It's actually a sign of effort from the autor to give their characters some personnality.

And for the whole prison thing, it's a furry isekai, it's part of the theme you can't just pop in a new world full of new species and walk around like nothing happend this is a necessary step for the reader to gather information of this new place while giving any kind of purpose to the story or a goal for the MC or just simply a realistic integration of the brand new human in this beast man world.

So yeah the game is an isekai and it's following the rules so far which is ok i guess ? I would've personnaly said that there was hint of inspiration from adatra (a tiny bit) more than FBTW but at the same time it's also an isekai so you can probably note the same similarities to other vn.

PS: I also have to add that it's weird to compare it to FBTW specifically since the first few hours of reading is just adatra in a different universe imo. ( Not to spit on FBTW I didn't liked it but it's a great game for a specific public )

Actually the comparison with Maruuk and Vulgor was pretty spot on, I noticed that pretty quickly. Gruff, somewhat rude, outright suspicious while also secretly caring (to an extent). I wouldn't call either of them "nice" either.

There are a few similarities with FBTW, with the main one being the MC ending up in a different world with no clue how or why, but to be fair that's a pretty common trope.

That said, I prefer this VN. The MC doesn't quickly decide to become a doting housewife for a closet case wolf, and you aren't forced into one romance route either (it seems).

yeah I just didn't read enough (and paid enought attention) to vulgor so I can only agree ahah.

And MC also has a personnality, isn't annoyingly naive, doesn't go AWOOGA over a whole new type of living entity in a split second, doesn't have the mental maturity and communication skills of a 5yo child. Tbh RYT is REALLY refreshing I haven't enjoyed a VN that much in a long time  :)

Agreed!

I won't lie though, I really REALLY wanted Vulgor to be an option.

You could also try "Remember the Flowers" and perhaps Soulcreek if you want more great VN's!

It still quite a riddle to me why people are so hung up on Vulgor considering what an abusive monster he is... I swear Adastra has infected everyone with Stockholm Syndrom.

(+2)(-1)

Nah, not quite. First of all, he's hot. This is important in a VN.

Second, he's a lot more interesting (complex) than Ranok in my opinion. There's obviously a soft-side buried in there somewhere, and finding it is part of the appeal. Yes, he's a prick, I won't defend that. But! If he can sort out his issues and let his guard down to the point he can actually have a healthy relationship with somebody? Somebody other than the FBTW's doormat MC. I mean.

yeah I'm waiting for a new update of RTF it's really great. but didn't get hooked by soulcreek sadly, the facial expression feels too weird (especially the blushing ones) and breaks my immersion but I'm sure i'll give it another shoot one day

(-1)

This has to be the longest thread I've seen on here. If you like horror games, you should try Burrows. RTF is a nice one for sure, and Soulcreek is interesting so far. I'm not too into the slice of life vns like After Class, Tennis Ace, or Socially Awkward, but those are also great titles if you want something less dramatic for a change. I have a spreadsheet with all the VNs I've played/found if anyone wants a more in-depth look at the different projects out there. There's been a huge uptick in them since Covid, and I'm here for it!

if both are not in this spread sheet you might want to add Sihai's Legacy and Heart Faster Than Light

I've heard of Sihai's Legacy, but I'll be sure to add Heart Faster Than Light.

Oops yeah, I forgot to add Burrows, I've been keeping an eye on that one too. But I'd still fully recommend Cryptid Crush!

i remember peoples trashing at the VN for Vulgor not "being gay" or being an option

(+1)(-1)

People were trashing on it because the creator's a transphobe and generally rude. Also, Ranok is too much like Amicus for my liking. I do feel that the VN would be better if there were more character options. The same thing kind of happened with the creator of "Lands of Fire" being manipulative and hurting other people. It's not necessarily the story for many of those hating on the game; it's supporting or providing any platform to a problematic and bigoted person.

"transphob" lol i gues it was another man made rumorse about him just becausepeoples don't like him, jesus this commnity is crazy lol it's not JK rowling
and the "ranok too similar to amicus" while this one was written before is kinda annoying, the creator was friends with  some echo dev and was still when ranok was "too similar" so, i know you don't like this vn but i can assure you in the recent build is not such of a amicus but anyway.
and the "vn would be better with character option" this is only your opinion but don't call something trash because you can't f*ck another guy lol it was never meant to be a dating sim so if you're frustrated about it it's not our problem and i perfectly know what i say, lots of peoples was trashing at the vn because vulgor isn't gay and that's scary

Honestly, I thought Adastra was fine. Yes, it became overly popular and obsessed over, but is it a horrible game? No. Echo will always be my top Echo Project VN because it was the first one, and I have the most nostalgia/emotion connected to it. I didn't explicitly say I want Vulgor to be a character option. All I suggested is that perhaps there should be someone else besides Ranok. It doesn't matter whatsoever to me if Vulgor is gay or straight or a boyfriend. In my opinion, Ranok is too full of himself, and it would be interesting if they added another route. Also, FBtW is not remotely fascinating or fun to play for me. The plot isn't anything special; the characters are mostly whiny or have certain qualities I particularly dislike. No one on here has claimed it's the worst game ever created, either. All people have stated is that they aren't fans of the creator for months and years of harassing people, a poorly written story, and several other factors. If you want to put the VN up to the same level as this one or games like RTF or Echo, you're free to. I, however, will not change my mind about FBtW any time soon, and I will not watch or play it. RYT, RTF, Echo, Burrows, Soul Creek, The Smoke Room, Minotaur Hotel, Lyre, Temptation's Ballad, In Case of Emergency, and countless others will forever exceed the likes of FBtW and that is my final verdict.

i don't want to go into the drama shit but all i can says is thats lots of fake rumors was spread over just by jealousy and pure hate i know it's wild but that's what i saw and see permanently this comunity.
beside that , adastra is ONE of these favorite top tier VNs i love and it will never change it was my first VN and it's indeed nostalgic for me too, fbtw it's not poorly written TO ME but not the best one and it depend of tastes i gues,  but i love it for its own world and lores that sadly lots of wonderful vns don't want to explore more, i also love RtF, Lyre, Soulecreek, but adastra is the only echo project vn i like tbh, i don't like the others  just because it's not my cup of tea  (tho echo itself has its own faults too but only this one) and after all the vn is way far to end so let's see what it's going to become, but i understand your point about the vn it's indeed not the best written one (i mean it will get better over builds i hope)  but i do love it so much for what it is, same with Rtf, Soulcreek, Lyre, Adastra

i mean, y'all act he isn't going to change in the vn it's only the begining guys but yeah it was annoying at the begining
