Nope. you have to "unlock" them by spending money. make sure you increase the level also. Unlocks can be accessed by HUD (top left corner)
i have to unlock the ability to shower?

honestly the bit about having to unlock the shower is what really threw me for a loop, have a wonderful day and i thank and commend you for your never ending amount of patience!
