Just update it, ren'py keeps it's saves in the computer's AppData directory so you'll always have access to them. The only time using old saves doesn't work is if the creator says old saves won't work because of significant changes/reworks. This is usually a rare occurrence.
How do I "update it"? There isn't a button for it in the game menu or on here.
Or do you mean, since the save data is located elsewhere, I just redownload it and overwrite the original copy, and it will still be able to access the save data?
