Linux and Mac are not so similar as one could think.
Though, as far as I see, the author has compiled a MAC version so it shouldn't be too hard to make it work for you.
On Linux I had to use the Windows version but it works almost out of the box if you have a decent GFX card and WineHQ 4.5 (testing release) installed on your system.
