The lives countdown is awesome!
The jump could have been maybe a bit more smooth, with some hang at the peak. It feels almost linear as it is. It makes some passages very hard, but for the wrong reason in my opinion.
The jump also suffers from the lack of coyote time, e.g. if I'm trying to jump from an edge of a platform, I will fall down instead almost every attempt. If you instead would add a small window of time between leaving the platform and jump being disabled, that would make it a much smoother experience.
