The dev is obviously going for the much darker example of corruption, considering that corruption can have different meanings based on context, honestly the game is more about brainwashing rather than corruption seeing as true full on corruption usually involves a person becoming a more selfish immoral version of themselves, either by their own choice or the encouragement of others, not by having a villainous individual in their head literally pick and choose what to change about them. (Still an interesting game mechanic though.)
