Getting caught by the gold wolf is a game over. You need to sneak past it. When it heads back towards the cages you need to run for the door and get out of the area.
Can you explain this, because I'm pretty damn sure I've interacted with absolutely everything and haven't found any way to open that case with the tube in it.
The only thing I can even imagine right now is a locked door that says it needs key A, but doesn't open with key A.
EDIT: Okay, I figured it out, here's where my problem was: In the research room where the glass cell with the wolf thing is, Key B is sitting on the table with the disabled computer. It blends in fairly well on my monitor. Also, the door with Key A is an error, it's actually opened by Key B.
