Yeah,  i kindda got that feeling when he was talking about bird watching and whatnot. Or when talking to play "matchmaker" between a noble and some cute things to get access to the hunting lodge, rogue skill and all that. I did experiment. But i felt like giving my character -well my version of your character i suppose- a full nice guy start and have him eventually become a scoundrel over time if the situation called for it.

Being betrayed kind of had to be a shock for him to take drastic measures to get revenge. If it's just being beaten at your own game you don't hold a grudge, you move on and start anew elsewhere, you may even come to respect your opponment. I suppose even a full on rogue character could wish to "save" Isabelle though, either because he could have feelings or because he'd think she could be usefull/an ally, she too may be more than a pretty face after all. But yeah, shining knight start for me, by choice. It made more sense to me. But thanks for the tip.
