Hi, SpiU! I just found this game the other day and I'm checking in on something I saw posted here a couple of months ago...
So we start the game with 1000 aureus. In order to unlock the economical healing option, we have to lose a fight, which subtracts 1000 aureus. That new healing option then costs 150 aureus moving forward. But now we're at 0 aureus.
So, are we supposed to just death-grind until we start completing quests? Are we expected to take the loan from the innkeeper? Winning fights only gives like 21 aureus, and it seems impossible to grind and heal since we get so little money.
If I lost the fight (and went to 0 aureus), am I now screwed since I didn't get the loan in the beginning? If I took the loan, I could at least have afforded the starter sword. But doing this out of order means you can't even get the sword anymore.
I guess what I'm asking is what would you say the 'best start' to the game is? It seems extremely unfair based on what I've seen so far. I know you mentioned that you're working on other ways to reduce the grind, but in the current build, what is the strongest start? I'm thinking it's:
1) Immediately take the loan. Go into debt.
2) Go to weapon shop, buy the sword. This leaves you with 800 aureus.
3) Lose a fight to unlock the 'cheaper' healing. Losing a fight brings you to 0 aureus.
4) Start grinding and hope you don't die now that you have a sword.
Does this sound right, or am I missing something obvious? Like, is there a way I should be defending in combat? Or is it just a straight up slug-fest where my only option is to attack?
