You can't rapid-fire because the shoot button already functions as a charged shot when held. I do agree though that remapping the secondary Jump or Shoot key on controller (for keyboard I think Shift would make the most sense) to be a continuous stream of uncharged shots would be a beneficial change. However, it would break the games' balancing if the player could auto-fire at anywhere near the rate of the Jet-Ski. Either it would need to be probably 13 the rate of the Jet-Ski, or fire in 3 shot bursts. Have a feeling that 3 shot bursts would be a better fit in a few ways.

There's absolutely no chance that they add crouching or crawling to this. It's a pretty faithful implementation of the original couple Mega Man games' design philosophy, and just as Metroid can't crawl, Mega Man can't crouch

well I guess I have to commit carpal tunnel then or use a macro for it if I want to when it comes to the shooting and having to deal with the nonexistent crouching like Mario's crouch on his 2D platformers or the nonexistent crawling.

Also, can't Samus Aran turn into a ball in Metroid? I mean, it isn't crawling, yes, but it does look like a crawling move to me, simply because u can literally roll left and right while in that ball state.

Samus does have the morph-ball ability, so you are right that she turns into a ball. Theres a very famous Metroid meme titled "Why can't metroid crawl" that I was making a reference to. Sorry if i ended up confusing you with that.

oh ok then, didn't know that was a reference to something.

You should look it up! In fact I'll link to it right here! Just a cool in-joke in gaming, and it also just worked in a compare-contrast sense for that comment.
Also I don't know why I didn't realize that you had said this in your comment on 4/19 but Mario does have the ability to crouch in his 2D side-scroller titles. I can say with certainty that it's a mechanic in Super Mario Bros 3, and now that I'm thinking on it its definitely in 2 as well, but I'm almost certain that it was even in the original Super Mario Bros. Maybe I misunderstand what you mean but in 2 and 3 it's a pretty important mechanic for gameplay, specifically for 3 because of the flutes.

Ok thanks for that in-joke thing u mentioned. Anyways, about the crouching that I mentioned in my previous reply, what I meant in there is that the nuinui quest game doesn't have crouching, not even a crouch similar to that of mario in his 2d platformers, where I can't move when crouching but can crouch jump to move while crouching.
