there absolutely could be a story out there that’s similar but as far as I know, it’s a story by your truly.

Its absolutely wild you found that because while it *did* hugely inspire me - I completely forgot it did. When I first started learning game dev 3 years ago, I remember reading that story and loving how simple it was at conveying the feelings of being trapped inside (which, during early 2020 when I first started was...slightly relevant) and how subtle the descent into insanity is. I read it like, 10 times in a week and wanted to make a game with a simmilar vibe that took place in a simple inside setting. But then I moved on many different game ideas and forgot all about it. When i finally came back to the "simple, inside, spooky" idea earlier this year - i had long since forgotten where it began.
im rambling but, im thoroughly impressed you made that connection and very happy that it came back around - and evoked that same feeling. 2020 tim would be damn proud.
