It looks like you manage to put a lot of system in this game but I didn't understand how to use the gun and where to go at some point, so I guess this needs some better tutorials ?
There is a how to play section in the pause menu, it's the same menu as opening the inventory. There should probably be some prompt that asks you to open it when the game begins automatically, you are right. Thanks for the comment.
