Are you sure you placed the file in the correct folder? Have you tried re-scanning your plugins in the FL Studio plugin manager?

Yes, it's in the same folder as my other VSTs which I have recently added and they scan ok. I re-scanned and re-started FL and re-scanned but still not recognised, weird.
