TL;DR update your tool as you want when you want.
If you had time to fix bugs I can only encourage you to update as soon as possible!
It doesn’t matter to me if you continue to work on the tool after the jam is over. On the contrary I think it’s cool that the tools continue to live as much as possible.
Just keep in mind that some of the people who evaluate you will have done so before the update.
