I was about to go though a big long post about how it all works and addressing bugs and the gameplay loop maybe not working right. But then I realised the updated game isn't on here yet. The early build was released on Patreon a week or so back and I'm using feedback from there to bugfix anything else I missed during playtesting. I'm aiming to have the bugfixed version up on itch.io for the 3rd June.
The intention is for the Forest to be the public release with (hopefully) the game going to Steam with 3 more worlds.
Basically, most of the bugs should be fixed, you can actually go back into the forest when you complete. It is a work in progress, so things like animations haven't been touched other than minor tweaks as the next phase will focus on making the animations interactive, so they can go as long or short as required. I want to add more scenes and animations, but once the animation update is done, it's likely they'd have to be redone from scratch anyway, so it's a bit more practical for me to hold off on them until that update is done. The only excuse I can give is that there will be bugs, but I am actively resolving them, however I'd recommend waiting a few days until the rebuild version is done.
For more information on the gameplan, I have a Trello board with tasks and phases: https://trello.com/invite/b/1D2c3Pan/4a8253a4e5088f13d7764ab5bbcd065f/running-of...
