Hey, yes it's absolutely possible the character controller will receive updates. Depending on the collective needs and wants of customers. I can't promise any features will be added, but they will certainly be considered for future updates.
I made a purchase on AssetStore.I wanted a template with just this much structure and I was also looking for painting elements in 2DTileMap, so I will try a few.
