The thing is, even though Emily and Connor were supposed to have a scene together, we took it out of the script since we felt like that wouldn't be in line with what the game is supposed to be, since TFP is a bit more story driven than the main game intro, we don't want to force situations like that on the player. As it is now, cannon would dictate that nothing is going on between Connor and Emily, they both are busy for different reasons.
