I definitely had a hard time balancing the game 😅. And yeah its a bit of a stretch to the theme, and it was way too late when I realized that 😅. Interestingly enough, there are actually "freeze balls" in the game where it would spawn lots of shapes then freeze the screen as you described. But they spawn way too infrequently so most don't get to see them. Thank You for the feedback!
