Great atmosphere (art/music/sound is *chef's kiss*) and I think the game mechanic with switching between Birbion and objects carries great potential! I feel like the story could be implemented more organically with the mechanic, for example why do the haunted objects help the burglar if they are ment to stop him from leaving etc. Also, intro/outro screen with a little text for context would be nice. All in all great little bite for a game jam, hope to see it developed further!
