I didn't really get it for a while but I believe I get the premise of the game. But it is a little too much randomness against skill, in my opinion.

Yes I agree with you feedback, the game too random, and also fail to communicate what is taken into account for realm points computation and leader's decision, it also has a number bias toward progression.
I may come back to it to balance it and add more feedback one day, when I have more time.
