I'm assuming ill need to rebuy the game if i ever want to play the update i guess. I probably should have bought is later but now I only have the old version since i bought it so long ago.
I bought the game originally in 2018 and I got the update, you need to hit "I already own this game" after you hit buy now and it'll send you a link with all purchased games, click NOTC link
