On pc? You can just copy saves and put them in other holder. When you download a new version, just put copyrighted saves in game's holder saves.
If on Android, just download new version and done. No need to copy saves or something like that.
Had to copy saves on mine, the new version didn't prompt to update. I use File Manager + on Android.
