This is a really cool concept. I love the idea that you've built here, it just needs more time to develop! I like the concept of gaining new abilities from the opponents you defeat. The dodging to avoid damage is a fun concept too!
I'm not going to go into detail on bugs here since you seem to be aware already of the things that don't work. Design wise, it'd be nice to have a way to restore MP outside of item use. You also might want to add mini-games to damage similar to the dodging if you decide to continue developing this.
Great job, I really think this could be a fun game if you decide to come back to it!
