I can get behind that idea. I have supported a crowd-funded bara game project before, of which the dev didn't specify what is going to be in the game when the project was first announced. I backed the project for its art style / puzzle elements / etc and just assumed that the dev would be fair about the distribution of their nsfw content (in the sense that there will be a roughly equal amount of top and bottom content), but it didn't turn out that way. By the time I dropped that project, 8 out of 10 of the datable characters are exclusively for bottom players, which really pissed me off.
But, that's not exactly the case for this project. This project is rather new, and like the other guy in the thread pointed out, dev did mention this game is going to be different from OIHS. It's probably too early even for the dev to tell you how the story is going to play out. Worst case scenario, if the dev intend to make this project like OIHS and only feature content that is catered for sub bottoms, the project is free and public and you can still drop it. Although I agree if the dev can make it clearer, at some point, what type of content is going to be featured, it would be better, so you don't have to get too emotionally invested.
