Hi, I'm not exactly sure what specific choice you're referencing, but there's multiple choices in this game, which affect the story/characters and if they live or die.
As for the Goddess/MC, the MC holds a strong hatred for the Goddess, which is why he spoke that way about her. With the other characters/girls, the MC doesn't hold anywhere near that kind of malice for (besides James later on), so he's not going to talk about them like that.
As for the gold, it was given to the MC by someone, so when he was offered a house to buy, which the price and gold pretty much matched up, it felt convenient for the MC to buy, since he realized that was the purpose of the gold he was given.
Finally, giving extra gold to the MC isn't the mayor's responsibility.
The mayor has already done his part, by giving him a head start and pointing the MC in the right direction.
The MC has to figure out what to do after that.
