Hallo Creators! My name is Rowan Hansen! I've been playing roleplaying games since... basically childhood, back when they were just stories my friends and I made up in our imaginations as we ran around with Mighty Swords and Powerful Magics, fighting demons and rescuing people who needed rescuing. I got into D&D some time around middle school around early 2000, and I've explored a small variety of other games since. I'll be the first to admit I've nitpicked every single game system I've ever looked at... with the possibly soul exception of Eldritch Asskicking, which, to me, is perfect.
To be honest I have no confidence whatsoever in my ability to finish writing the RPG I want to write by the deadline, much less make it only 5000 words. As usual I think I've bitten off more than I can chew. That said, so far it seems like the "5000 words" part is going to be the harder one for me, so that at least means I've got plenty of ideas to spew out.
The RPG I'm trying to make is tentatively titled simply Shounen Action Hero RPG, or SH.A.H! for short. I might change it to Your Own Shounen Action Hero RPG, just so I can make the acronym Y.O.SH.A.H! because it fits the theme a little better. I'm trying to make a system that is both generalized enough that it can be used to fit any Shounen series' worldbuilding and power structures while also being modular and customizable enough that the specific flavor of those powers isn't lost or waved over. It's going... okay? I haven't written any examples of how the mechanics work, I haven't properly layed out how XP works, or added details about customization options on powers or background traits, and ALL OF THE NUMBERS ARE MADE UP, but... I DIDN'T COME THIS FAR JUST TO GIVE UP!
