Playing a 3D game from a 2D view is an interesting and creative concept, but design-wise it seems to have only negative consequences. Like it's possible to run off the edge, except now there's no way to tell when you're about to go off the edge.
Having to retrieve your boot after you jump seems to be pointless. If the main goal is to jump on the enemy then having to go and get your boot if you miss really doesn't add anything, it's just annoying. Also I'm not sure why there are two camera angles to choose from at the beginning, because it doesn't seem to alter the game in any meaningful way.
I don't know if it was intended but I find it funny that after touching the enemy, the character just runs directly off the nearest cliff.
So yeah the concept definitely has potential.
