so will my saves from older version be automatically picked up by this updated version or do I have to copy the save folder over?
They should be automatically picked up. That is actually why people get those false "virus" alerts on their phone. Because the game tries to save the files locally. That way when you delete the game and reinstall it you keep your saves.
