is there a particular reason why this is the code? Like I know some old school games that also use same or similar to this combination but where did this even originate from?
This is the Konami code which was used by Konami as a cheat code in their NES games which would usually give the player stuff like a bunch of lives or unlock extra content. Nowadays it's used as an easter egg rather than a cheat.
