I think having both an accelerate and a focus button would be too complicated for my liking, but it really felt like the default player speed was too much for micrododging certain patterns. Though it may also be a matter of getting used to, for example you can use diagonal movement against screen borders to move slower.
I think overall the game will have fewer and shorter micrododging sections (mostly reserved for strong, singular enemies, like the big drone at the end), and more sections which incentivize quick repositioning and speedkilling before the small enemy attacks stack up
