Managed to beat it! Enjoyed the originality and a sense of power that comes from entering Monkey Mode.
Unfortunately, the later stages felt like they were going against that, requiring very precise movements and some lengthy enemy kiting, so that in the end you enter the monkey mode only for a few seconds before getting the big banana. While I appreciate the puzzle elements, completing the levels did not feel very cathartic compared to the first half of the game. The hitboxes of the monkey and bananas also felt weird, which combined with the strange, unnatural flow of level 20 made it more frustrating than it had to be. I did realize you have to go for the right banana first at some point, but still died a few times after. I'd suggest that the banana and/or player collection hitboxes are adjusted.
Lastly, I'd suggest emphasizing the monkey mode more, by having the player do more stuff in it before they beat the level, since most levels atm are simply "beeline to the exit" as the optimal move. I liked the level where the player races to the exit while collecting bananas on the way, extending the monkey mode. I also liked the level where monkey mode runs out before you reach the exit, so you need to clear up the obstacles and enemies first. I think the game could really use more levels like that to increase the fun factor, rather than levels with precise solutions.
Lastly lastly, it felt weird that the enemies were still rushing you in monkey mode, maybe make them run away instead? (suggestion)
Anyways, I had fun, hope my feedback will be of use. Congrats on finishing the jam!
