Hi, I've been playing this game on and off for a while now, and I wanted to leave a few comments.

First off, as an art lover and art history lover, the amount of detail and research you put into this game is incredible. I especially appreciate the focus on obscure and marginalized creators, as well as the historical criticism of some iconic artists. There were a lot of artists featured in this game that I never heard of, so I really appreciate you taking the time to do your research and highlight some overlooked artists.

The game mechanics are also fairly simple to understand. It didn't take me long to figure out how the variables work, and the experience was overall pleasant.

One criticism I have is that after a certain point, it becomes really hard to get new cards because they're so costly, so I have to wait a really long time for one card. I suppose getting every single artist isn't necessarily the point of the game, but I don't want to miss out on learning about all the artists you included. I think it would be nice to make getting new cards late into the game easier, or maybe add a prestige system to make future playthroughs go faster.

Alternatively, I think a web page documenting all the artists you included in the game would be a nice way for us to go through them quickly. I recall you making a comment in a Reddit post about how you wanted to include links to the artists and their works but ultimately didn't, so I think a web page would be a good compromise.

Overall, I greatly enjoyed this game both as a fun way to pass the time and a surprising way to learn about new artists and art history. Later gameplay can be frustrating, but other than that, I greatly enjoyed your game. Keep up the good work.

Side note: If you ever decide to add new domains, I think a domain about web art and/or graphic design could be interesting since there are some pretty influential web creators and graphic artists out there.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to share these impressions. I'm really glad you've enjoyed most of the time you spent on this !

Although I'm aware the game is very flawed in its current state (in part because of the reasons you mentioned), I no longer have the time to update it (but I've made a post-mortem video a few months back, outlining the main mistakes I've identified, and what I'd like to change if I happen to find the time someday).

For the same reason, I've deleted every link leading to the webpage that gathered all of the game's information. I wasn't happy with its current state and it's not up to date anymore (some typos and mistakes that were corrected in the game still appear on the page). But since you've asked, here's a link ! https://antoine-ramo.com/worldwide_arts_society/artists.html

Thank you so much for your very kind response! I just finished watching your post-mortem video, and it was an insightful look into your development process and your thoughts on the game now. Despite its flaws, I can tell you put a lot of effort into this game and learned a lot from making it.

Thanks again for your response! I really enjoyed this game and I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Oh yeah, and thanks so much for the link to the artists! This is super helpful!
