This may be a dumb question but are there saves against spells?
Like would a PC get a dodge save against a ranged damage spell? Or would they get an INT save vs some.kind of charm spell?
yes! Because casting requires a successful INT check for PC, in my own games I roll either AGI, TOU, INT etc based on what I think makes sense to resist.
Okay, that's cool.
Do you give enemies/monsters any kind of save vs spells?
no - because the pc already has to make his own success roll. If he succeeds, the spell works.
Yeah, the only time I could see it being used if it was a spell with ongoing effects maybe.
Magic in a game is always the hardest thing for me to wrap my head around tho.
I have another question (sorry)
The worlord has the special that forces a death/wounding roll on a critical hit.
Does that mean a critical fail on a dodge for a PC?
precisely!
Another unrelated question
What do you think about using the rules for PCs fighting one another with monsters?
Like level three PCs would have a -2 when attacking and dodging a level 5 monster like a black legion champion .
yes I use this!
I haven't tested yet but it's probably helpful as PCs advance.
Like a character with +3 agility will rarely fail a dodge.
Last question (I promise)
Is there a discord for this game?
