I was able to get around this by just restarting the game and making sure I beat that specific level in one attempt and the rest of the game is AMAZING
that bug has been there for a while... I spent ages trying to find weird solutions to fix it. It was one of those bugs that show up when you change something completely unrelated and somehow it breaks the game.
