I did not, in fact, escape the unholy city. Fun concept for a game, and I think it'd be cool to play a longer version of this, maybe one where you get to play longer stretches of time before "they" stop you again. Running into the traffic accident reminded me a bit of The Truman Show, which does feel like a good comparison for the escaping-inescapable-circumstances plot at least. 

In the end, I think it works out well to keep this game short, because it avoids the issue of making the constant waking-up feel annoying.
