I like the premise. Could probably benefit from a bit of polishing.
I felt like I got stuck after falling into the pit with mechaboy. Not sure if that's intentional or not.
I figured out how to get out of the pit and was starting to enjoy the core-game-loop, but then I got hit with game-over, time's up!
Maybe instead of the hard-deadline, you could just deduct points for going too slow.
