Experienced two crashes when lighting up the first lamp and immediately jumping. No idea whether those are the steps to repro, but after I did it twice I decided not to try again, and I simply finished the first level without the light.
Your game commits the cardinal sin of restarting when you die. You should restart from the level you died in. I don't want to have to replay level I already know how to play, get bored in the process, just so I can get another crack a difficult jump, or otherwise progressing. Terrible idea.
Graphics: I liked the character pose and animation. Very Dick Van Dyke like. Charming. The graphics are consistent, when it comes to character, FG and BG. They are all pixel art. However, the light beams are a completely different technology and have a different visual style. The two styles clash.
Audio: The jump SFX sounded like a small click. The music sounded very odd. Like a kick percussion going on forever, and a tiny riff on it for like a few bars. The rest was the kick thing.
I wasn't able to experience how the game is a lie by level 3, which is where I jumped ship, because of the restart problem I discussed before.
Especially for game jams, you want a game where most or all of the content is readily available. Insta-restart is a big no no.

Thank you for the valuable feedback! I watched you play and for the most part I totally agree with you.
I understand that the game has issues running in some browsers but seems to work fine in chrome.
No restarting when you die, understood.
We will make the lamplight and cast shadows align with the pixel aesthetic in the updated version.
It appears that the jump sound is broken and the music was a poor last minute addition. We already have someone working on a whole new score and SFX library.
The game is a lie by way of the misdirection used in levels e.g. fake platforms, invisible platforms, arrows pointing you in the wrong direction, etc.
Again, thanks for taking time to play and give criticism!
