Appealing to whom?

It is AI generated and there are people you cannot appeal to, but will deter with those.

Context is important. One is more anime style and the other more photorealistic. It depends on overall setting and the left one is uncanny valley material, while the anime fans might be appaled by the generative AI look.

for sure the generative AI is controversial at the moment, it's a new big chanfes despite many people and companies started in using it. And at the beginning I was a bit unsure about what to do, however as i said is a big changes and we have to dive into it.

The game is written by a woman for women and it's about violence against women. She likes both styles but because this is a visual novel I would opt int for the style "B"... despite the style A is more in alignment with a plot like that one... mmhhh

You do not know much anime, do you? Plotwise there are not really any bars for that style. Especially if you want to break from what is accepted or rather unaccepted to depict with real humans. If you want reference material, maybe look at some Elfenlied. I could not imagine getting that done in pseudo realistic style. Or rather, I would not want to.

In the end it depends on her audience and how the rest of the setting looks. The style on the left is what I might expect from a high value comic book graphic novel, or at least it's cover image.

I assume this is not the typical visual novel audience, so maybe chosing anime style because it is a vn, is not sound reasoning. It might be the better choice for other reaons.

when you say the style on the left you mean "A"?

However, I decided to choose anime style cause it might be more oriented also for a typical audience... the more realistic style fit another story and game we have in mind
