the shadow of the character is supposed to be the same as the construct. you aren't supposed to see a difference. as for the theme we went along have the game lie to you that the character might be there, more of deception between two characters, but i can see how it may not fit into the theme. There is a way back on the controls only but the screen layout made the return button be of the screen. i believe you can still see it slightly when you look top right corner when its not in full screen.
Are you referring bout the the white curved sprites as footsteps?
