I got this game years ago, and it has always been one of my favorites! I wrote the basic lists on some small note paper and keep it in my wallet and usually have a deck is cards in my backpack, so I can pass time whenever I am!
I also tried out making a simplistic "challenge" system for it. For those interested to try:
To get your character "stats", you take a 2, 3, 4 and 5 (suit doesn't matter), shuffle and draw, once for each stat: Skill (spade), Courage (heart), Luck (club), and Resourcefulness (diamond). Reshuffle after each draw.
During the normal play, if you want to see how well your character would do in a certain situation, make a deck consisting of an Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 (suit doesn't matter). Decide on what stat would best fit this challenge. Shuffle and draw, then compare to your stat number. If the drawn value is equal to or less than your stat, you succeed! If it's more, you fail.
Whether I'm using this Challenge style or playing by the og rules, I've had loads of fun, and it's an amazingly simple system and tool to use!
