Thank you for playing my game! The time limit definitely influenced how the gameplay turned out (you were pretty much spot on about things changing depending on where you look. That was originally going to be a much larger focus but had to be quickly altered due to time constraints).
As for the monster, I took inspiration from Gmod Nextbots & The Joy of Creation, where the "Monsters" had a coinflip mechanic that influenced their actions. The environment was designed with the idea that the players could run away if they made sure to distance themselves before looking, but I see how that could lead to frustration with the innate randomness of it.
I definitely think I can do way more with the initial concepts in Aberrational! I'd be interested in returning to this game after the Jam Rankings are done so I could expand on this way further!
