This is a game rating comment (I tried not to post spoilers in my review, but I do allude to some things, so if you do not want anything spoiled, please do not read)

TLDR 3.75/5 Stars. Good sex scenes, good story/world building, but lacks weight when given choices because the end result stays the same regardless of skills or choices. (very linear, which isn't a bad thing, but when the main ending is "You are Evil", takes a lot of stock away from the player choices no matter what they do)  I like Hyao's approach on choice management.  Feels very impactful in his game "Lustful Desires" Here it lacks depth, but keeps you involved in the story because of the worldbuilding and characters.

So I played the game fully twice, and the first was just a normal playthrough, got the bad cards from the seer, etc.  But then my 2nd playthrough I didn't seduce anyone at all and made the "good choices" but still got the same outcome?  I thought making different choices would have given me different thoughts or made the main character act differently, but it didn't work like that.  Unless I did something wrong.

So here is my review of the game, and this is just personal opinion so don't hate me haha.

First the bad because I like ending on a good note:

Overall the game is good, I do wish that you wouldn't be "punished" for using your powers though.  I get the "undertale" vibe of not choosing to do certain things, but in a game that is mainly about sex, punishing the player for doing those things is kind of frustrating.  I get why, I just don't personally like when games force the 4th wall of "are you a good person".  My other dislike of this game is that even when you do have the skills necessary for certain choices, it rarely ever forces a different outcome.  Like not having the skill just move you to the same path regardless. Someone always comes out of the blue to save you or the conflict just ends or even having the skill is still not "good enough" and you fail the encounter because it was plot driven for you to fail.

Now the Good:

I loved the different art styles personally.  I felt it mixed in the realness of "you are in a different world". So people may not look all the same and even all the races are drawn differently and I enjoyed that.  I do like the cute moments of banter between Zad and the MC.  I also do like Sepheni's growth throughout the novel.  You can tell she really had to mature fast with what was going on, and that even changed her on a physical level too.  The writing was great for the most part, and this is coming from someone who has published poetry before.  I do like a lot of the analogies and the sex scenes being written.  I think the world building was phenomenal as far as the magic system and how the universe interacts with the characters.  How there are taboo forms of magic, and different combinations, different towns, and even the academy being discussed in depth.  There is a lot of lore hidden in the VN that makes me want to read more about the world, or have even an RPG style game in that magic universe.

Conclusion: I enjoyed the game, but I do wish there were more major differences between choices.  (I also know how work intensive that would be to do that, but otherwise it feels like the player really doesn't have a choice in what's going to happen) I played it twice, and would even be up for a third time to see if I had missed anything on my first two play throughs.  But to get it a rating, I'd say its about a 3.75/5 for me.

That's what I say! More choices, impactful ones at that... Not being rapped whenever you choose to use the skills 😂

I finished the game and. . . the MC isn't evil? He stopped the bad guy. Yeah, the cards SAY he turns out evil, but he doesn't?
